You must be 18 or older to use this site. We sell nothing through it. We set no tracking cookies. We keep the personal information we are required to keep, and no more.

Who may use this website
This website is intended for people aged 18 and over who are in South Africa. By using it you confirm that you meet that age requirement. If you do not, please leave the site.
What this website is, and is not
This website is an information resource about The Blue Cheese, our premises and what we stock. It is not a shop. No cannabis products are sold, ordered or reserved through this website. All cannabis transactions take place in person at our Richards Bay premises, subject to membership and verification.
Nothing on this website is an offer to sell, supply, reserve or deliver any cannabis product to any person. Product information describes categories we may carry from time to time. Availability changes constantly and is only ever confirmed in person at our premises.
Accuracy
We try to keep opening hours, addresses and descriptions correct, but we cannot guarantee that every detail is current at every moment. If you are travelling to us for something specific, contact us first.
Conduct on our premises
We operate a strict zero-tolerance policy on alcohol and on any other illicit substance, anywhere on our premises including the lounge. Anyone found bringing either onto the premises will be required to leave and their membership will be cancelled. We reserve the right to refuse entry or service to any person at our discretion.
Merchandise and accessories
Prices shown for glass, accessories and apparel are starting prices, shown in South African rand, and are subject to change and to availability. They are an invitation to enquire, not a binding offer. All accessory sales take place in-store.
Links to other sites
Where we link to third-party sites, such as Google Maps or social media, we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
Intellectual property
The The Blue Cheese name, logo, text and design on this site belong to us. Please do not reproduce them without asking.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this website or from reliance on information published on it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
2. Privacy notice (POPIA)
We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This notice covers this website. Information collected in-store, including for membership, is explained to you at the counter at the time.
What this website collects
This website has no contact form, no login and no shopping basket. We do not ask you for personal information here.
- Age confirmation. If you confirm your age, that answer is stored in your own browser's local storage so we do not ask again. It never leaves your device and we cannot see it.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard access logs, which may include your IP address, browser type and the pages you requested. These are used for security and to keep the site running.
- Third-party embeds. The map on this site is served by Google. When it loads, Google may receive your IP address and set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
- We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
- We do not build marketing profiles from your visit.
If you contact us
If you message us on WhatsApp, phone or email, we will have whatever you send us, and we keep it only as long as we need it to deal with your query.
In-store membership records
As a licensed collection point we are required to keep records of members and collections. That information is kept securely, kept for as long as the law requires us to keep it, and is not used for marketing without your agreement.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and object to processing in certain circumstances. To make a request, contact us using the details on our Visit page. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
3. Cannabis disclaimer
- Cannabis products are for adults aged 18 and over only. We verify photo identification on every visit.
- Nothing on this website is medical advice, and no product description here is a claim to treat, cure or prevent any condition. Speak to a healthcare professional about your own health.
- Do not drive a vehicle or operate machinery after using cannabis. It is illegal and it is dangerous.
- Cannabis is not suitable for everyone. Do not use it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you have a heart condition, or a personal or family history of psychosis or other mental health conditions, speak to a doctor first.
- Effects vary between people and between products. Edibles and concentrates in particular can be far stronger and slower than expected. Start low and go slow.
- Keep all cannabis products away from children and animals.
- You are responsible for complying with the law that applies to you, including any law about carrying cannabis in public or across borders.
